Heaven help me....

*Once again if you can't handle hearing about bodily fluids then this post isn't for you. Just skip it.

My little Crue is being blessed tomorrow, so you can imagine how stressed I've been today. Trying to get the house cleaned, bathing the dogs, getting the cookies baked, and making sure I pick up everything I need at the groccery store. Finally, the day is coming to an end, so we start doing the night time routine. Crue gets bathed every other night and as you may remember last time bath time didn't go too smoothly. I have this horrible feeling that this is how it's going to be from now on. I fill up the clean tub (I'd just cloroxed it because I washed the dogs) and put my handsome little boy in it. I'm normally the one that holds Crue up in the tub and Mike is the one who washes him, but for some reason Mike was holding Crue tonight (you will see how this was convenient for him). As he's holding him, I start to notice Crue's face going red....that's right....the poop face. The crazy thing about all this is that he hadn't gone since the last I blogged about it so he's got to be planning it at this point. Anyway back to the story. Mike can't leave this time cuz he's holding the baby but that left me to fish out this huge poop. There wasn't just one either he kept going. I grab some toliet paper and try to get it out but....you guessed it....toliet paper dissolves so I was basically just using my hand to grab this crap...literally. Later when I was telling my sister this she asked me why I didn't use a plastic container or something. Well, that thought hadn't crossed my mind at the time this scenario was happening. I was just concerned about getting the grossness out of the water so that my little boy didn't get some disease. Finally, when he finished going, we took him out and I cleaned the tub for the second time tonight. I'm starting to wonder if he knows what he's doing so he can extend bath time.....or delay having to go to bed. I have to say though I would much rather him go while in the tub than when he's in the towel because a) when he also starts to pee we just put him under the water instead of me having to use my hand to block it from spraying everywhere b) Mike has to help because it is definitely a two person job c) it doesn't smell d) last but not least because I now have a plastic container under the sink so that I will not longer have to touch it with just my hand. Needless to say I'm thinking I won't bath him for awhile. He's lost that luxury. But if any of you have suggestions that will help me avoid this the next time I do bathe him please tell me! Those of you who know me know what a clean freak/germ freak I am and I cannot handle this happening again.

Once again these pictures are for my benefit to remind myself how much I love my little boy :)

Where to begin....

*Disclaimer: if you can't handle hearing about bodily fluids then this post isn't for you. Just skip it.

Today has been "one of those days". Let me just say that before I had a child and mothers would tell me stories about their little ones I always wondered how they did it. How did they handle not being in control of the situation? How did they stomach all the gross things their kids did? Then I would think, oh my child will NOT do that. I will have a well behaved little angel that doesn't do gross stuff. Then I had Crue. Let me start at the beginning. My mom watched Crue for me today and when I picked him up she said, "Shan I think Crue's constipated so you might want to give him some water or put him in a warm bath to get his bowels moving". I kind of brushed this comment off because I knew he would eventually go, he always does. Now I have said in the past that bathtime was my favorite time of day....that changed tonight. Usually we take Crue out of the tub, wrap him up in his towel, and play with him for a minute before we dress him and get him ready for bed. Well tonight was no different. Took him out, wrapped him up, played with him. I then realized we forgot to grab the lotion out of his room so Mike went to grab it. As he is doing this I notice that Crue's face is really red and it looks like he's pooping. I open up the towel to check and sure enough that's what's happening. Great. I'm completely grossed out and am yelling for Mike to come help me. The moment Mike opens the bathroom door he's like, "that is disgusting, I can't handle the smell Shan I'm going to throw up". He shuts the door and leaves. Awesome. So I proceed to clean up this mess. Well I've almost got it under control when I notice that Crue's face is all wet. Yep he was peeing. So I use my hand to stop it from getting everywhere and as I'm doing this he starts to poop again. At this point I'm laughing because I'm so grossed out it was either that or start crying. So I wait a second to make sure he's done and once again proceed to clean him up. I call for Mike to come in and start the bath water again because let's face it, at this point he's not clean anymore. So poor Mike sucks it up long enough to start the bath water and then, you guessed it, he leaves. Don't worry he will pay for this later :). So I'm playing with Crue waiting for the water to fill up and for the third time he starts pooping! Lovely. Then he starts to pee again. All I can think is, "you've got to be kidding me". So once agan I use my hand to stop it from spraying everywhere. You may be wondering why I didn't just throw the towel over him at the beginning of this whole situation and wait till he was finished. Well the answer is simple. With all those bodily fluids coming at me my brain stopped working and I went it to panic mode. The only thought in my head was don't let any of this get on me! Anway I was finally able to get him in the bathtub for the 2nd time that night and the moment he got out I strapped that diaper on him before he could move a muscle. Needless to say he will not longer be allowed to just chill in the towel.

Below are some cute photos of my handsome little man (these are more for my benefit than yours....remind myself why I love him so much!)

Update

Crue is 11 weeks old and is growing up so much. I sometimes wonder what happened to my tiny little baby! A few things that Crue has started doing lately: talking, playing with his tongue, hitting the toys that dangle from his play mat, smiling whenever we talk to him, sitting up in his bumbo (he's actually been doing this for awhile) and basically just being a pretty good kid. He doesn't cry too much and when he does it is usually because he is tired. He has been sleeping 9-10 hours every night since he was 7 weeks old which I really appreciate! The dogs have also been really good with Crue and I'm so thankful for that because there is no way we would be able to get rid of them. Although we just encountered a little situation with Shrek and I'm hoping that it doesn't happen again! First of all I must say that Maggie is always really careful around the baby but Shrek doesn't really seem to care if the baby is there or not. He jumps over the baby and whips the baby in the face with his tale all the time (Crue doesn't seem to mind this, but I do). Anyway, when we got home from St. George and picked the dogs up the moment they got home they started rampaging through the house. Poor little Crue was just laying on the couch minding his own business when Shrek "accidently" jumped on him! Crue just stared at me like "mom how could you let this happen", then his bottom lip starts to curl (he's not crying at this point just looking at me with the saddest eyes) and then a few seconds later the screaming started. I felt horrible. It didn't take long to quiet him but it broke my heart. There he was an innocent bystander to the craziness around him when all of a sudden he was attached by a big black furball! I'm not too worried though, I know Crue will get back at him when he's older :)

St. George

We were lucky enough to go to St. George again with Mike's family. I was able to find Crue the cutest blessing outfit and Mike had a great time golfing. Crue is such a great little traveler too, he usually sleeps when he is in the car. I didn't take many pictures this time but here's a few:

until next time...

Check-up

My handsome little man had his 2 month check-up today! I can't believe it has already been 2 months. It seems like he's been apart of our family forever because we can't imagine life without him! He weighed 11 lbs. and was 23 in. long which puts him in the 38% for weight and 58% for height and his head cir. is 5%. He also had to get 2 shots and it broke my heart to see him scream so hard that he couldn't even take a breath. The weird thing is that this blood curdling scream lasted about 2 seconds and then my little boy fell asleep! However when we got home he would cry every few minutes and the times that he would quiet down he had angry eyes that wouldn't stop, but once we got him in the tub those angry eyes disappeared and my funny little boy was playing in the water and sticking his tongue out! If only I could keep him in the water forever....or at least until the pain in his legs goes away!
Angry eyes
Happy baby in the tub

Below is Crue compared to Mags. The first picture was taken his first week home and the second one was taken a few days ago. He has grown so much!!

I love you Crue-boo!

Road Trip!

Mike's family just got a townhouse in St. George, so two weeks ago we went down to get out of this crappy weather (unfortunately it rained the ENTIRE time we were there so it was kind of pointless to leave here)! Mike and I decided to go down early so we could spend a day in Vegas to visit family and shop. We left on Wednesday night and Crue was so good! He slept the whole way down which was great. When we got to Vegas we left Crue with Great Grandma and Grandpa George and as you can see from the pictures below Crue had a great time....Grandma probably not so much! I didn't get any pictures of dinner with Eni and Devon but we loved visiting with them and hope they come stay with us soon! Then maybe I can convince her to have a baby....
When Mike's family got there us girls went and got amazing massages! The boys were going to go golfing but the rain ruined their fun. We did eat at Don Pedros which is a favorite of ours, I recommend it if you are down that way! On the way home we met Grandpa and Grandma Waddingham at Chilis! It was great to see them since we don't get to very often.
The best part about finally getting home was we were able to drop Crue off for the night at Mimi's house so we could get a good night's sleep....of course she gave us back our dogs....I guess that's a fair trade! :) Thanks for the fun times everyone! Can't wait to do it again! Crue getting ready to go to Vegas

Poor Grandma..she just bought that sweater!
