My little man loves the bathtub! I think it's my favorite time of day too and not only because it's part of our bedtime routine and I know I ge to put him down for the night after we are done ;), but because he is so happy and active during bath time. He kicks his legs and splashes his hands in the water and he doesn't mind if it gets in his face or eyes, he just opens his mouth really wide (maybe hoping to get a drink?) and makes the cutest noises. Mike and I call him our little "fishy fishy" and even when we are done cleaning him we let Crue sit and play in the water and sing upbeat goofy songs to him. I can't wait for this summer when we can take him to the pool, I know he'll just love it! I've posted some pics of him bathing at various ages and in various "tubs". I wish I had more pictures but since it's a two person job to bath him I don't get to take many photos.

Crue Michael Morrell
Since we just entered the blogging world I have a little catching up to do. I'll be using this blog for mostly journaling purposes so I've got to start from the beginning. The most exciting thing that happened recently was that we welcomed our first child, Crue Michael Morrell, into our lives on Dec. 11, 2009. He weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. and was 18.5 in. long. Mike and I were at Cafe Rio eating dinner when the contractions started to get really strong. We arrived at LDS Hospital @ 10:30 pm and by 5:02 am he was here! It was such a breeze, I didn't feel any pain and the nurse even gave me a numbing shot to put my I.V. in! Everything went so smoothly and I'm praying that it wasn't a fluke and that next time it will go exactly the same way!
Crue was such a good little boy from the beginning but I noticed when we brought him home he hadn't pooped for a couple of days so I took him to the dr. and they told me he had jaundice. It was pretty bad and we had to keep him wrapped up in lights for 5 days! It was so miserable because he could only be moved a few feet away from the machine and had to lie in his bassinet most of the day, but he was a champ and hardly cried.
At his 2 week appointment Crue was in the 5% for height, 9% for weight, and 3% for his head size...my little boy was just that....little!! He had only gained 1/2 an ounce and 1/2 inch since he was born.
When Crue hit about 6 weeks he found his tongue and also started blowing bubbles. It is the cutest thing and when I kiss him he sticks his tongue out right after, I love it! However, he also got really cranky so we just started him on a strict schedule a few days ago and I already see the benefits, he cries less, almost sleeps through the night and is such a happier baby! He also smiled for the first time the day before he turned 7 weeks old, a real smile not a gas-related one :), while I was singing to him...it was so rewarding and I was lucky enough to get a few photos of it! I'm sure this new and improved little boy is the result of the schedule so we will definitely be sticking to it. We love him so much and couldn't imagine our life without him. It's hard work but it's so worth it!
And last but not least a few nicknames bestowed upon little Crue:
Crue-boo
Crue bear
Cranky Crue
Handsome little man
Grumpy old man (this was used fairly often in his first 5 weeks of life..not because he cried but because he just made this mad face all the time)
Crue dog
Cruezer
fishy fishy (I will explain this in my next post)
Now enough of me rambling....here are the pictures :)
